Mid-Year Check-In: Are You Playing Big Enough?
Can you believe that we are halfway through the year already! Which means it’s the perfect time to pause and reflect. Not just on what you’ve done, but on how (and where) you’ve shown up.
Ask yourself:
Am I playing big… or playing it safe?
It’s so easy to get caught in the day-to-day, checking boxes, staying heads-down, keeping your network on the back burner, or telling yourself, “I’ll go next year.”
But playing big? That looks like connecting with people and getting in the room even when it’s uncomfortable.
This summer, I’m choosing to play big in a few specific ways. No more playing it safe. I’m showing up.
Attending the WBENC conference in New Orleans
Asking people I admire, but don’t know, to be on my podcast
Going after the keynote spot at conferences
Joining Women Leaders in Sport and Women in Revenue and getting in the room with new people
Pitching professional sports teams a new career program
This year, I’ve been attending more events, meeting new people, and putting energy into conversations that spark something. And every time I show up, something shifts. Not just in my business, but in my mindset.
Mini Challenge:
How can you play big this summer?
Put yourself out there. Register for a conference in an industry you’ve always been curious about. Reach out to someone you admire and invite them out for coffee. Block it on your calendar. Tell a friend you’re going. Reply to this email and tell me about it. That one move can lead to a dozen new doors opening.
Because let’s be real: Opportunities come from relationships, not résumés.
Let’s make the second half of the year bold, brave, and a little bit squiggly. And if you need some help getting yourself or your team to play big, reach out and let’s talk. I have ideas for you!
